TOKYO TOWER

Rising 333 meters high at Shibakoen in central Minato, Tokyo Tower was the tallest freestanding tower in the world when it was built. Beating the model itself as well as the previous tallest tower, namely the Eiffel Tower. Since construction was completed, many TV and radio stations have installed antennas on the tower for broadcasting, and to this day, Tokyo Tower is still used to broadcast analog and digital services.

Apart from broadcasting, Tokyo Tower has also been an observation tower since it first opened. Tokyo Tower has two observation decks: Main Deck at a height of 150 meters and Upper Deck at a height of 250 meters. The Upper Deck is still the third highest observation deck in Tokyo, after the two observatories at Tokyo Skytree. It is estimated that more than 150 million people have visited Tokyo Tower since its opening 63 years ago. Despite competition from a number of other observation decks throughout the city, Tokyo Tower still receives around three million tourists every year.

How to get there:
There are several stations near the Tokyo Tower that can be used as stopping locations. For subway stations, the closest are Akabanebashi and Onarimon Stations. If you use the JR train, Hamamatsucho Station is the most accessible station and can be reached on foot in about 15 minutes.
