AMMAR AND OSMAN RAMJU SADICK ISLAMIC CENTER

Masjid Ammar and Osman Ramju Sadick Islamic Centre
40 Oi Kwan Rd, Wan Chai, Hong Kong

Dimsum is one of the mandatory foods to eat when visiting Hong Kong. In Hong Kong there is also halal certified dimsum which is easy to find in the city center. It is located in the Islamic Center Canteen, to be precise on the 5th floor of the Ammar and Osman Ramju Sadick Mosque, Wan Chai.
This canteen's halal certificate is renewed once a year.

This canteen is not only intended for Muslims, non-Muslims can also enjoy dishes here. Towards the 5th floor by climbing the stairs, I passed several rooms. Prayer rooms and ablution rooms for men and women are separated on different floors.

The canteen door was wide open and a pile of bamboo baskets containing various types of dim sum on the left side of the canteen welcomed me. The room is a place for ordering dim sum and a dining room. It seems that there are many visitors occupying chairs and dining tables in this canteen. Sure enough, those who eat in this canteen come from various ethnicities and races. Opposite the dining room is the kitchen. The kitchen door is open so visitors can see the cooking process directly.

The price of dimsum at the Islamic Center Canteen ranges from 18 HKD or around IDR 36,000 to 28 HKD or around IDR 56,000 for one portion of the menu. The soup variant is priced between 61 HKD or around IDR 122,000 to 66 HKD or IDR 132,000. The price of the crispy fried chicken is 116 HKD or IDR 232,000 for a half portion of chicken and 222 HKD or IDR 444,000 for a whole chicken. Starting from Steamed Chicken & Vegetable Buns, Chicken Siu Mai, Steamed Shrimp Dumplings, and Steamed Rice Roll with Chicken. Then Seafood & Bean Curd Thick Soup, Crispy Deep Fried Chicken in Chinese style (crispy fried chicken), and Stir-fried Gai Laan (stir-fried kailan vegetables).

All the menus here taste delicious but don't taste too salty and tend to be bland.
Don't worry, there is soy sauce with chilies available in a small container as a dip.

How to get there:
From Causeway Bay MTR find your way to the Times Square Shopping Center.
There's an exit from the MTR that will lead you there.
