STOP OVER IN VADUZ, LIECHTENSTEIN

by - 9:30 PM

From Milan to Zurich, I stopped briefly in Vaduz, Liechtenstein.
Liechtenstein is the fourth-smallest state in Europe lies in the center of the Alps, between Switzerland and Austria and it is the sixth-smallest country in the world.

This country turns out to be one of the most prosperous countries in Europe. What is unique about this country is that the number of companies registered as domiciled in Liechtenstein is greater than the number of residents. Even so, Liechtenstein does not have an army.
Vaduz is the capital and largest city of Liechtenstein, a small country located in Central Europe. Vaduz is also the financial and cultural center of Liechtenstein, which has had the status of a sovereign state since 1806. Vaduz is located on the banks of the Rhine, which separates Liechtenstein from Switzerland.

I stopped in Vaduz only about 3 hours for lunch. I didn't visit too many places while I was here. Arriving at the Liechtenstein center, I walked just to look around and only visited the post museum then rushed to Vaduz castle. Vaduz is a quiet place but offers a variety of local activities or attractions, such as the Vaduz palace, the Liechtenstein art museum, the Liechtenstein postal museum and St. Peter's cathedral. Florin. Vaduz also offers beautiful natural views, with mountains, rivers, lakes and forests.

1. Liechtenstein Center
The Liechtenstein Center is also the official tourist office in Vaduz. In the on-site gift shop visitors can purchase the unique postage stamps as well as a wide range of other Liechtenstein souvenirs. Right next to the Liechtenstein Center is also a replica of the 'Km. 0. + 0. Km.' stone, which marks the point from which all road distances in Liechtenstein were first measured in 1864.

In the Liechtenstein Center you can buy a large number of typical products such as postcards, Liechtenstein items or a large selection of stamps.

2. St. Basil's Cathedral Florin
This is a Catholic cathedral located in the center of Vaduz city. The cathedral was built in the 19th century, in the Neogothic style. The cathedral has a beautiful facade, with tall towers and colorful windows. The cathedral also has a luxurious interior, with a frescoed ceiling, golden altar, and a large organ.

3. Kunstmuseum
A museum that focuses on fine arts. This museum, located in Vaduz, was designed by Meinrad Morger, Heinrich Degelo and Christian Kerez who are Swiss architects. The museum, which was founded on November 12, 2000, has attracted a lot of attention from tourists visiting  Vaduz. Not surprisingly, thousands of tourists come to this museum every year.

How to get there:
From the bus station, walk about 10 minutes to the city center. This bus leaves every half hour from Sargans and takes about 30 minutes. Or you can try city train.
