Đảo Ti Tốp: A Stunning Island Escape in the Heart of Ha Long Bay

by - 1:00 AM

Rising majestically from the emerald waters of Ha Long Bay, Đảo Ti Tốp (Ti Top Island) offers travelers a perfect blend of beach relaxation, panoramic views, and historical charm. Small in size but big in beauty, this island is one of the most beloved stops for cruise-goers exploring Vietnam’s UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The island is named after Gherman Titov, a Soviet astronaut who visited Ha Long Bay with President Ho Chi Minh in 1962. In honor of his visit, the island was named “Ti Tốp” (Vietnamese spelling of “Titov”), symbolizing the long-standing friendship between Vietnam and the former Soviet Union. There’s even a statue of Titov near the beach as a reminder of this historical moment.

Ti Top Island is famous for its crescent-shaped beach, powdery white sand, and calm turquoise waters—ideal for swimming, sunbathing, or simply soaking in the serenity of the bay. Unlike some of the busier spots in Ha Long, the beach here is clean, well-maintained, and incredibly inviting.
What makes it even more special? The island's beach is artificially replenished and maintained, meaning it’s always in top condition for visitors.

For adventurous souls, a steep staircase trail leads up to the top of the island, where an observation deck offers one of the best panoramic views in all of Ha Long Bay. After about 400 steps, you'll reach the summit, where a 360-degree vista of limestone karsts, sparkling water, and floating boats awaits.

Ti Top Island is the kind of place where you can hike a mountain, swim in a tropical bay, and lie on the beach—all in the same hour. With its perfect balance of nature, history, and activity, it’s no wonder Ti Top is a favorite among travelers seeking both adventure and tranquility in Ha Long Bay.

Whether you're on a one-day cruise or spending multiple nights on the bay, Đảo Ti Tốp is a must-see gem that captures the essence of Vietnam’s coastal beauty.
