Story of Neverland

Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul
27 & 29 Lebuh Keng Kwee,
10100 Georgetown, Penang

In Penang there is a very famous cendol selling outlet, namely Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul and Ice Kacang. It's so popular that it's not even valid to visit Penang if you haven't tried it.
Even though it is located on the south side of Jalan Lebuh Keng Kwee, it is actually not difficult to find this drink outlet. It is located around the very famous Penang Road.

When I arrived there, I had to be willing to queue to get a bowl of my dream chendul or ice peanuts. But there's no need to worry because the queue moves quickly because of the fast service.
Original Chendul is a dessert made from processed rice flour and colored green, with pandan aroma soaked in coconut milk. It is served with red beans and topped with gula melaka which is boiled for 4 hours. Served cold in a bowl and topped with shaved ice.

Hameed ‘Pata’ Mee Sotong
6, Kota Selera Padang Kota Lama
(Fort Cornwallis Food Court),
Jalan Tun Syed Sheh Barakbah,10200,
Georgetown, Penang

The location of Mee Sotong Hameed Pata is located in Selera Padang City, which is an easy location to find. This Mee Sotong outlet starts operating from 12 noon to 8 pm every day except Sunday.
Mee Goreng Sotong is fried in a large skillet for several orders at a time. They use a special sauce with synchronized syllables.
It's the same as Mee Rebus which is prepared in large quantities. After the mee is cooked, then the sotong chili sauce is placed on top of the mee as a complement to this special menu

Matcho Cafe
99B, Lebuh Noordin, George Town,
10300 George Town, Penang

A humble matcha & chocolate specialty cafe in Georgetown, Penang!
Millennial pink and lush greens. Rattan chairs and a single neon flamingo. Soft music from a thoughtfully curated playlist and the remaining sunlight from between the dark clouds that were threatening to rain on us trickling in.

Matcho Cafe serves up summertime specialties – perfect for Malaysia’s hot weather climate. It definitely feels like a tropical getaway at this cafe, as you can relax in rattan chairs while sipping on refreshing sodas – served in rose-gold cups! – and pretend you’re at the beach.

Chew Jetty
Georgetown, 10300 Pulau Pinang, Malaysia

Chew Jetty is located in the old town of Georgetown. This village is rich in history, and this area used to be a place of escape or refuge for Chinese people during the war in the 18th century.
Clan Jetties is home to nine ethnic Chinese pioneer clans who stopped in Penang. The nine clans are Ong, Chew, Lim, Lee, Tan, New Jetty, Peng Aun, Yeoh, and Koay.
One of the Clan Jetties that has opened itself as a tourist destination in Pangkalan Weld is Chew Jetty. Chew Jetty Village was finally named by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 2008.

Most of the houses at Chew Jetty Penang are made of wooden planks, similar to floating houses and are quite solid. Here you can walk around looking at the residents' houses and relax while taking selfies on the pier in the afternoon. Facing the sea, you can see the bridge that connects 2 cities in Penang.

How to get there:
Chew Jetty Penang is closer to Lebuh Chulia, Lebuh Armenian and its surroundings and then crosses to the village. If you stay in Georgetown, you can go to Penang Island using the Rapid Penang bus and stop at Sungai Nibong. After that, change to transportation using a ferry across the island with a travel time of around 25 minutes.
Meanwhile, from Georgetown city center you can also go to the Penang Heritage Trail area with a distance of approximately 2 km. To get here faster, you can use the GrabCar service at a cheaper rate.

George Town is one of the historical central cities in Malaysia. This port city, which has existed since the 17th century, is a meeting place for various ethnicities and cultures that live side by side to this day.

George Town also witnessed the history of World War II and the independence of Malaya and the formation of the Malaysian Federation. Tourists who come there can see various buildings with unique architecture while walking, cycling or riding a pedicab.
There are more than 1,700 historical buildings in this Core Zone which line the four main streets of Las Pengkalan, Lebuh Pantai, Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling and Lorong Cinta. There is also a stretch of sea around the port that is a shame to miss.

Hundreds of murals inhabit the small radius of the old town, now developed into one enormous art trail. Follow the trail via bike or on foot, or ditch the map and see what you happen to stumble across in the many side streets.

Khoo Kongsi
18, Cannon Square, George Town, 10200, Penang, MALAYSIA
Leong San Tong Khoo Kongsi's Clan House and Museum are open daily, including Sundays and Public Holidays, from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Leong San Tong Khoo Kongsi or simply Khoo Kongsi is one of the clan associations (kongsi) of Chinese descent that was successful on the Malaysian peninsula.

Leong San Tong is located in a hidden area. It is fortified by shophouses and residential areas which are very close together. To access it there are three separate roads. The main entrance is located on Cannon Street, while the side entrance is on Armenian Street, and the back entrance is on Beach Street. The location of Leong San Tong, which is protected by surrounding houses and shophouses, was apparently intentional. So that when danger threatens, access to the complex can be closed easily.

How To Get There:
The temple cannot be seen from the street.
To find the entrance you have to walk along (Lebuh) Cannon Street towards the Acheen Street Mosque, which you can see at the end of the road.
You will find the entrance to the Temple compound on your left.

Masjid Terapung
Jalan Batu Ferringhi, Tanjung Bungah, 11200 Tanjung Bungah, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia

It's called the "Floating Mosque" but it doesn't actually float on water. This mosque appears to float on the beach supported by concrete pillars above the sea. The location is on a cape (a sea basin that juts inward). Its name is Tanjung Bungah. The 1,295 square meter building is a renovation of a building that was previously damaged by the 2004 tsunami.

This Moorish architectural building is unique in its tower which is 7 stories high. This tower functions as a place for the call to prayer. This mosque can accommodate 1500 worshipers. At each of the four corners of the mosque there is a gazebo which can be used as a place to enjoy the beauty of the Malacca Strait. We can see fishing activities.

Opposite the mosque, we can see the Mar Vista condominium. Land in Penang is very limited. Land prices are very high. That's why there are many apartments, ranging from simple to luxurious.

How To Get There:
The Masjid Terapung Tanjung Bungah is easily accessible from the Tanjung Bungah main road. It is located on the opposite side of the road from the Mar Vista Condominiums. Rapid Penang buses 101, 103 and 104 goes to Tanjung Bungah (Bus 104 may require some walking, as it goes to Tanjung Bungah village).

Oh yes we stop by Batu Ferringhi Beach
Batu Ferringhi Beach is a popular beach on Pulau Pinang. The atmosphere is quite beautiful and calm, there are also many water activities that can be done, lots of tourist visitors here. The location of mosque is between Penang and Batu Ferringhi. From Komtar you can take a bus to Batu Ferringhi and stop right in front of this floating mosque.

Kek Lok Si Temple
Jln Balik Pulau, 11500 Air Itam, Penang, Malaysia
Opening hours: 7 am–9 pm daily
Entrance fee: The entrance fee is free for most of the temple, but the elevator lift costs 3 MYR ($0.80), and the entrance to the pagoda is 2 MYR ($0.54).

Kek Lok Si Temple is one of Penang's landmarks. The location is on a hill, a little outside the city center of Georgetown, in the Aer Itam area. If we use grab it will cost around 20-25 RM.
This temple is a Buddhist temple complex. The architecture is a combination of Chinese and Myanmar style. There are several entrances. We entered through the bottom door where the turtle pond is. So you have to climb up. If you don't want to climb, you can enter through the top door where the statue of Goddess Kwan Im and the pagoda are and then go down.

In this complex there are several altar buildings for prayer with quite beautiful gardens. A large white pagoda is at the top, but we have to pay again if we want to enter the pagoda.
To get to the temple, you first have to walk up a gradual inclining set of stairs and walkways, that are all sheltered by a labyrinth of souvenir shops. It almost felt like a cave packed with souvenirs, and there was hardly any air or breeze walking up – so be prepared to start dripping with sweat. This complex is quite interesting to visit and nearby there is the Air Itam market which has many food stalls. Unfortunately we didn't have time to explore this market and taste the various foods being sold.

How To Get There:
To get to Air Itam, the area where Kek Lok Si temple is located, you can either take bus #203 or #204.
The bus cost 2 MYR ($0.54) per person, and it took about 30 minutes to get to the market at Air Itam.
At the corner of Jalan Air Itam and Jalan Pasar, you’ll see a big sign pointing towards the temple.
Follow the sign down Jalan Pasar, and when you come to the T in the road, turn left. Soon you’ll see a small alleyway path, and that foot-path to the left leads to a set of stairs, which is the main walkway to Kek Lok Si temple.

Penang at night is also wonderful.
The street not too crowded and the surrounding is quiet and solemnly.
We try to explore this city at night and try some food there.
First we booked grab to go to Pos Burger Jelutong.

Pos Burger Jelutong
Lebuhraya Jelutong, Taman Jelutong, George Town, Penang, Malaysia,

Surprisingly no queue. Its special consist of potatoe cubes. The overall taste is satisfying, nice and yummy.

2. Restoran Deen Nasi Kandar

Across Pos Burger Jelutong, there are famous Nasi Kandar Restaurant named Restoran Deen Nasi Kandar. Restoran Deen is located on the service road of Jalan Jelutong, with the bus stop almost directly in front of it. You can take Rapid Penang bus 301 and 401 to this bus stop.
We just know it when our grab driver tell us that we must try Nasi Kandar. Nasi kandar is a popular northern Malaysian dish from Penang, originally introduced by Tamil Muslim traders from India. The meal consists of steamed rice combined with an array of distinct curries, sides dishes, and gravies. The selection of curries consists of various blends of vegetables, seafood or meat.

Having a similar name, Nasi Kandar Deen Jelutong is different from Deen Maju. This Nasi Kandar in Penang is also worth trying because its taste makes many people keep coming back. The various menus offered are also varied, such as fried chicken, fried shrimp, fried cuttlefish and the favorite menu, cuttlefish egg.

WHOAAA our stomach was full, and it's time to go back to Hotel.
