Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is one of the famous tourist attractions in Taipei, Taiwan. The building with typical Chinese architecture that stands majestically has become one of the favorite places for tourists from all over the world.


Built in 1976, it is also called the Chiang Kai-shek National Memorial Park as a mark of appreciation for the former president of the Republic of China, Chiang Kai-shek, who died the same year.
Chiang Kai-shek's services are numerous. He is one of the most important figures in modern Chinese history. To honor his services, the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall was built.


Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is in the middle of a 25 hectare park. The beautiful main building is made of white marble. Inside the building there is a bronze statue of Chiang Kai-shek as high as 6 meters. Apart from that, there are many paintings and artifacts from the era of his leadership.
Apart from buildings, a bronze statue of Chiang Kai-shek, various paintings and artifacts about the history of the Republic of China in the museum, tourists can also watch the changing of the guard ceremony by special forces. On certain days, cultural arts performances are also held in the Chinese.


The architecture resembles the buildings in the Forbidden City in Beijing with an 8-square roof, which in Chinese philosophy symbolizes abundance of fortune and good luck. Meanwhile, the color gradations, both inside and outside the building, are dominated by white, blue and red, in accordance with the flag of the Republic of China which symbolizes freedom, equality and brotherhood.
On the ground floor or right below the Chiang statue hall, there is the Zhong Zheng Auditorium and several rooms which are used as galleries where the remains of this military figure are stored. Zhong Zheng is Chiang Kai-Shek's alias.



Right in front of the memorial building, there is a large field called Liberty Square. This field is surrounded by a flower garden which is very nicely arranged. In spring, this park will look even more beautiful with the blooming of the many cherry blossoms planted there.

 9 minute walk to Exit 5
     13 minute walk to Exit 6
