Lucerne, a beautiful small city located in the middle of the Swiss Alps, is one of the most popular cities in Switzerland. Located on the shores of the beautiful Lake Lucerne, the city has many attractions for tourists who want to enjoy the beauty of Switzerland.

One of the main attractions in Lucerne is the Old Town, which is the center of the city and has a long history.

Old Town Lucerne is a place full of rich history, architecture and culture. There are many small streets and alleys with beautiful wooden houses. These old buildings have been well preserved and offer an interesting glimpse into the city's past.
The Old City of Lucerne is also famous for two iconic buildings, namely the Water Tower and Chapel Bridge.

Chapel Bridge or Kapelbrucke is the oldest covered wooden bridge in the world that still survives today. This bridge was built in 1332, unfortunately several parts of the Chapel Bridge were seriously damaged due to a fire in 1993. Until finally it had to be rebuilt in 1944. The interesting thing about the Chapel Bridge is that the interior of the bridge contains paintings from the 17th century. These paintings hang on the roof of the bridge, so that it has a basic triangular shape. One part of the Chapel Bridge is the Water Tower (Wasserturm) or a tower that stands on the water with an octagonal shape. This tower was once a prison and a storage location for the City of Lucerne archives. The Chapel Bridge and Water Tower are so famous that these two buildings have even become a target destination for tourists when they go to Switzerland.

The tourist attraction of the city of Lucerne is fantastic. The old city center is decorated with classic buildings with charming architecture along the Reuss river. Lucerne can also be a shopaholic's paradise. There are various famous watch shops in the city such as 'The Bucherer' and Casagrande. Switzerland itself has long been recognized as the best watchmaking country in the world. The history of the watch industry in this country is marked by various famous watch brands. Among them, Rolex, Patek Philippe, Tag Heuer, Tissot, Bucherer and many others - with prices ranging from hundreds of euros to tens of thousands of euros.

Lucerne is truly a paradise for shopping lovers. In fact, this city seems to have become a mandatory shopping destination for most groups of tourists from Asia. The reason is, this is where they can find various well-known watch shops, dozens of complete souvenir shops, chocolate boutiques, and so on.

How to get there:
Luzern is not difficult to reach, the city is 67 km from Zurich airport. The train station is also interconnected with other big cities. Visitors can also take a bus from Zurich Airport directly to Lucerne. Meanwhile, Bahnhof Luzern or Luzern Train Station is connected to almost all major cities in Switzerland which is managed by Swiss Federal Railways. Zurich - Lucerne, for example, is served by around 40 trains every day.
