ENJOYING AFTERNOON IN AMSTERDAM

by - 7:00 AM

Spending an afternoon in Amsterdam offers a fantastic opportunity to experience the city's unique charm and attractions. The Jordaan is one of Amsterdam's most charming and historically rich neighborhoods, located in the city center. Here's an overview of what makes the Jordaan special.

Originally built in the early 17th century as a working-class district for artisans and laborers, the Jordaan has evolved over the centuries. In the mid-20th century, it faced economic decline but has since undergone gentrification and revitalization.

The best way to explore the Jordaan is on foot. Strolling through its narrow streets, along the canals, and past its many shops and cafes gives you a true feel for the neighborhood.

The area is known for its traditional Amsterdam architecture, including narrow canal houses and picturesque courtyards. Popular canals include the Prinsengracht, Lijnbaansgracht, and the Herengracht.

The Jordaan is home to many independent boutiques, antique shops, and art galleries, cafés and restaurants.

Walking through the Jordaan provides a sense of Amsterdam’s historical layers, from its humble beginnings to its current status as a trendy and desirable neighborhood.

The Jordaan is celebrated for its relaxed, bohemian atmosphere and is a favorite among both locals and visitors. Its blend of historic charm, artistic flair, and vibrant street life makes it one of Amsterdam’s most beloved neighborhoods.
Okay, it's time to go back to Almere. If you little bit tired after strolling around, you can take a tram to back to Amsterdam Centraal.

When back to Amsterdam Centraal, I stopped for a while to enjoy sunset.

I'm not sure, why times flies so fast. I must back to Almere before it's too late.
Bye, Amsterdam! See you in another time!
