Story of Neverland

4711 Shop am Dom
Wallrafpl. 9, 50667 Köln, Jerman

The name of the fragrance known as "Eau de Cologne" leaves you in no doubt as to where this perfume originated – namely here in Cologne. For many people, this can only mean one thing: the "4711 Original Eau de Cologne" – an icon among Eaux de Cologne. Small wonder that "Original Eau de Cologne" was repeatedly named the brand of the century.

The House of 4711 is a sightseeing hotspot in the city center of Cologne, which represents creativity in the art of perfumery since 225 years. The oldest Eau de Cologne was born in October of 1792, when Wilhelm Muelhens received a secret recipe as a wedding gift. This recipe was for an “acqua mirabilis,” or a miracle water intended for internal as well as external use. Soon after, Wilhelm opened a manufactory in the Glockengasse (meaning "Clock Tower Square") area of Cologne, Germany. He marketed his miracle water as a health drink served undiluted or mixed with wine.

The original eau de cologne is now over two centuries old—there must be a secret that keeps people coming back for hundreds of years. The brand chalks this success up to high-quality ingredients and essential oils. The bright, fresh top note grabs attention right away --you can't help but notice it from the first spray or splash. All the ingredients and scents work in harmony. Bergamot, lemon, and orange provide a unique revitalizing effect. Lavender and rosemary calm and relax with their deep, herbal tones. Bitter orange extract (also known as Neroli) creates a positive and calming base note.
Not only cologne that the shops were selling, but also some souvenirs from Koln such as magnet, postcards and many more.

How to get there:
From Kon Cathedral, make your way to the right. Walking for about 300m then the shop is in your right.

Dean & David
Köln Hauptbahnhof, Trankgasse 11, 50667 Köln, Germany

After strolling around Koln Cathedral, I'm very thirsty and exhausted. Well, from morning breakfast until this evening, I'm not eating any foods because I thought there some food that served for me, but it's just my fantasy hahaha. There were many shops that sell foods and drinks around the cathedral. But my eyes captured some interesting, called Dean & David. They offer some healthy foods such as juice, salad, smoothies and many more.

Dean & David stands for carefully selected, fresh and high-quality natural ingredients that are free from flavor enhancers as well as animal gelatin and colorings & preservatives. In short: healthy, honest food prepared by hand!

A healthy, quick option rather than fast food. Accommodating for all diets, can do a build your own salad as well.

This is great for anyone looking for healthy vegetarian alternatives. Very clean inside and good value for money too. Friendly service. I definitely recommend a visit to Dean and David.

How to get there:
Keep walking left from Koln cathedral side, then if you see there are stairs in your left, go down, and the shops is in your right.

The Hohenzollern Bridge crosses the Rhine at kilometer 688.5. Initially, this bridge was used for railways and highways, but after it was demolished in 1945, this bridge was only used for trains and sidewalks. Named the Hohenzollernbrucke, this bridge is very unique because you can find thousands of love locks bearing the names of couples who have visited this place.

It is not known how many padlocks are attached around this bridge. The reason is, thousands of tourists and residents around Cologne put "love locks" there as a symbol of their affection for their partner.
However, it is estimated that there are around 40 thousand love locks hanging on the bridge to date. This is a fantastic number, considering that the tradition of installing love locks on the bridge only started in 2008. If you calculate it, it means that there are around 40 thousand couples or 80 thousand people who have followed the tradition of installing this love lock.

Even though it is unique, in fact expressing love for your partner by installing a padlock creates new problems on the Hohenzollern Bridge. This is because the tradition of installing love locks makes the bridge weigh around 2 tons. Not to mention, the keys to the locks were thrown into the bottom of the Rhine River, which polluted the river.

Despite all the existing problems, this bridge is actually able to attract thousands of tourists every year. Especially when Valentine's Day arrives, because there are several couples who want to install padlocks
on the Hohenzollern Bridge, or just walk around and take photos on the walls of this unique bridge.

How to get there:
Past the Museum Ludwig and across Heinrich-Böll-Platz is the footpath onto the bridge. This means that the bridge can be reached in just a few minutes from the main railway station. The Hohenzollern Bridge can also be easily reached from Cologne Deutz Messe station. The distance is 450 m.

Köln Cathedral
Domkloster 4, 50667 Köln, Jerman

St. Peter's Cathedral Church in Cologne or better known as Cologne Cathedral is a Roman Catholic church located in the heart of the city of Cologne (Koln), Germany. Located on the side of the famous Rhine River, Cologne Cathedral looks very majestic with its large building construction and two towering church towers. Cologne is one of the historic cathedrals in the world with masterpieces of Gothic architecture, an architectural style that originated in Europe in the mid-century 12th to 16th.

The current Cologne Cathedral was built on the site of a number of church buildings that have existed since the 4th century AD. The previous cathedral building was destroyed by fire in 1248. Soon after this event construction work began on the current Cologne Cathedral and it was rebuilt in a gothic style. to imitate church architecture in France.

Cologne Cathedral is also rich in historical artifacts that are centuries old. Apart from a number of detailed sculptures typical of Gothic architecture that decorate the church as reported by UNESCO, there are also several highly historical artifacts and art objects in Cologne Cathedral.

Cologne Cathedral was designated as a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1996. Reported by UNESCO, there are at least a number of factors that make this cathedral a world heritage site, including that Cologne Cathedral is a work of creative and genius human design. Cologne Cathedral is also considered a strong testimony of Christian beliefs in Europe in the Middle Ages and modern times. As a historical building which is also known as a world heritage site, Cologne Cathedral attracts a lot of interest from tourists and pilgrims. Some information suggests that before the pandemic, it was estimated that around 20 thousand people visited one of Germany's most famous landmarks per day.

How to get there:
The following public transit lines have stops near Kölner Dom. The closest stop is Köln Dom/Hbf.
Train: RB26, RE5 (RRX), RE8, S11, S12, S19
Light Rail: 18, 5
Bus: 127, 136, 260, 978, SB25

Finally I arrived at Cologne (Köln), Germany after extending a few days before in another country. I was a little surprised by Germany, after visiting Italy and Switzerland, I felt the German vibe was stiff and cold, but still the buildings here attract my attention.

I don't go around the city of Cologne too much because I don't have enough time between working and exploring the city. Luckily, the office I was going to was not far from one of the main tourist attractions in Cologne, namely the Cologne Cathedral.

The architecture of Germany has a long, rich and diverse history. Every major European style from Roman to Postmodern is represented, including renowned examples of Carolingian, Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Modern and International Style architecture.

In the cities, a blend of Gothic and Romanesque sits happily alongside Bauhaus, Modernist, and Contemporary buildings. The Bauhaus architecture style is a modernist design movement that originated in Germany during the early 20th century. It is characterized by its emphasis on functionality, minimalism, and the integration of art, craft, and technology.
