STROLLING AROUND SHIBUYA & SHINJUKU

A trip to Tokyo is not complete without setting foot at Shibuya Scramble Crossing. Pushing through the waves of people that flood the intersection outside Shibuya Station every two minutes is an experience in itself. Combine that with some of the best sushi in town and meeting burly sumo wrestlers, and Shibuya offers the best tourist experience in Tokyo. Take a bird's eye view of the iconic crossing from one of the surrounding cafes or station buildings, or if you're quick and careful, take a street level shot from inside the scramble itself.

The streets of Shibuya continue to play a role in determining global fashion trends. The iconic Shibuya109 building is a mecca for fashion-conscious teenagers, while Shibuya Hikarie and Seibu are modern complexes for sophisticated fashion shopping and dining. Alternatively, stop by the Jinnan area and browse the selection of specialty shops. Not just a place for modern fashionistas, if you're a designer or creator, head to modern lifestyle megastore Hands or Loft ; or pick up some unique souvenirs from the giant shelves of discount store, Don Quijote.

One of Japan's unofficial monuments, the Hachiko statue in Shibuya is a tribute to the loyal Akita dog who waited for his owner at Shibuya Station every day, even after his owner died. Today, this statue is one of the most popular meeting places in Tokyo.
Apart from the JR Line, Shibuya Station is also on the Keio Inokashira Line, Tokyu Toyoko Line, Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line, and the Ginza, Hanzomon, and Fukutoshin Lines of the Tokyo Metro. It takes 20 minutes to walk from Shibuya Station to the Aoyama, Omotesando and Harajuku areas, and 15 minutes to the Daikanyama area.

Shinjuku is one of the fastest growing districts in Japan. Transportation access in this district is very good and every day it is filled with lots of people such as residents and students, including travelers. Shinjuku is also a district filled with various cultures so there are many ways to enjoy it.
