RAOHE NIGHT MARKET & SHILIN NIGHT MARKET

Taiwanese people, including in Taipei, have a habit of looking for food at night.
This is what makes several locations in this city become night markets selling various foods.
In the capital Taipei, for example, there are several very famous night markets. Of course, the various foods sold at each night market have their own uniqueness. Some things you can try during your culinary tour at Taiwan night markets include crispy chicken, stinky tofu or stinky tofu, papaya juice, oyster omelets, and various other snacks. Don't worry because these various culinary delights are sold at very affordable prices.


1. Raohe Night Market
One of the night market locations that is well known among tourists is the Raohe Night Market, which is located in the Songshan District. The Raohe Night Market is indeed similar to other night markets in Taipei City. However, this place is better known to tourists so it is more crowded. Apart from that, at the east end of the night market there is Ciyou Temple which is an interesting location for tourists to take photos.


Raohe Night Market is one of the oldest night markets in Taipei, which sells a variety of culinary delights that are different from other night markets. Apart from being visited by many tourists, Raohe Night Market is also one of the local residents' favorite night markets. 




You can find a variety of traditional Taiwanese culinary specialties to contemporary foods here. For example, beef noodles, spicy tofu, meat and vegetable hotpot, soup filled with beef, and super large grilled squid. Open from 17.00 Taiwan time, Raohe Night Market is located in Songshan District.



You can use the MRT green line and get off at MRT Songshan station and walk for about 3 minutes to get there.

2. Shilin Night Market


Apart from that, another famous night market is Shilin Night Market. Located in the Shilin district, Taipei City, this night market is very famous because it sells a variety of delicious culinary delights at pocket-friendly prices. At Shilin Night Market you can try eating the famous stinky tofu, rice noodle soup, eating sweet potato balls with various toppings. You can also try the crispy barbeque chicken which is phenomenal. Not just culinary, at Shilin Night Market you can also try various games and shop for trendy clothes, you know! To go to Shilin Night Market you can use the MRT Tamsui-Xinyi Red line, and get off at MRT Shilin Station or MRT Jiantan Station.
Unfortunately I came there when Chinese new year held so just a little shop that open that day :(
